FAQ

What is the center’s sick policy?
A child cannot return to the center until he/she has been free from fever, vomiting, and/or diarrhea for 24 hours.

What are your hours of operation?
We are open from 7:00am – 6:00pm for full- time students and 8:30am – 12:00pm for preschool students. The earliest you may drop off for preschool is 8:20am. Please be on time so you won’t miss lesson time.

Can you suggest any tips for drop-off?
Wait at the classroom door, and the teacher will greet your child and help him/her get settled in for the day.

Is late-stay or early-drop off available for my preschool only child?
Yes, when ratios allow. Please inquire with the office for specifics.

How do I know if your center is closed due to bad weather?
Delayed opening announcements and closing of our Full Day Care Program will be announced on WYFF and posted through Facebook.  If possible, we will notify you though email. Only our Preschool Program follows the Greenville County School decision.  Note: Daycare may still be open. You will receive an e-mail concerning any adjustments in the centers schedule.

Is breakfast served at your center?
No. All children age 1 and above must eat breakfast at home. We provide a small mid-morning snack for the children but not breakfast. We also provide a hot lunch and an afternoon snack for the children as well. No outside food is allowed unless it is for a special snack for the class. Please remember no peanut products for party days.

Can my child bring something from home to eat if he/she does not like what is on the menu?
We do not allow any food to be brought into the center from home unless the child has a medically documented food allergy. We strive to serve food that accommodates most food allergies.

How do you communicate with parents?
Each teacher sends home a monthly newsletter which is also posted on our website. If you need to speak with a teacher, just leave a note in the office, and she will call you later in the day.

Why does my child need a book bag?
This is a great way for us to communicate with you. We place important information, reminders, and student work in the book bag. Please take it home nightly.

Can my child bring toys to school?
We ask that all toys be left at home unless it is your child’s share day.

What is the clothing policy?
We ask that children wear shoes with backs (flip flops are not good for running outside and in the gym). Also remember to dress your child appropriately for the weather. We do go outside on cool days.

How do you handle birthdays?
You are welcome to bring in a special snack for your child’s birthday. Please coordinate with your child’s teacher. Do not put birthday party invitations in children’s book bags. All invitations must go through the mail. You can request an address list in the office.

What are your class sizes?
Our maximum class size for infants and creeper is 8 children, for toddlers and K2 is 12 children, for K3 and K4 is 15 children, K5 and 1st grade after-school is 26 children, and 2nd-5th grade after-school is 26 children.

Will my children take field trips?
Children in our K3 and K4 programs do take field trips at our center. We use the state recommended 15 passenger school buses with seat belts to transport the children. Parents are given the opportunity to go on the trips with their child as chaperones.

At what age is my child required to be potty trained?
All children entering our K3 room are required to be fully potty trained. No pull-ups are allowed.

Are the teachers required to do any training?
All teachers are required to complete 15 hours of DSS approved training per calendar year.

When is payment due?
Monthly tuition is due on the 10th of every month. Weekly tuition is due on Friday for the following week. There is a $15 late fee per week if payment is not received in a timely manner.

Do you charge late fees?
All tuition is due on Friday for the following week. If payment is not received by the following Monday at noon, then a $15.00 late fee is assessed per child. A late pick-up charge will be administered when a child is left beyond dismissal times of 12:00pm for preschool and 6:00pm for daycare.  The tardy fee is $15 when picking up 5 minutes late and an additional $1 per minute that the teachers are left waiting with your child.

Do you take credit cards or automatic bank withdrawals for payment?
We take cash, personal checks, auto draft and you can make one time online payments through our Headmaster online program using your bank account information.
